Default More power

Hello....i'm new to this forum and hoping to get some help. I own a 72 with a 350. Minor mods to it with a eldelbrock performer intake and 600 carb. Headers and 2.5 inch exhaust. I'm looking for suggestions on what heads and cam I should put in this to boost me to approx 350 hp+.
Some say buy a edelbrock top end kit and be done with it. True or false??
Another thing is it must fit under the hood, I do not want and air inducted hood on my car.
Thx a bunch.....Les

best to get a top end package. they have matched sets though www.summitracing.com it will come with heads, cam, lifters, intake, carb, air cleaner the works. you looking for aluminum or cast? look for a set of 2.02 heads if you want cast. closed chamber if your looking for higher compression from those stock pistons. open chamber if your looking to add any type of boost

2.05 kit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-09-0002/
no carb, you might wanna step up to a 660 thought maybe 750
2.02 kit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-08-0039/
another non carb kit. it calls for a 600cfm carb though so that might be a cheaper option for you

Don't go with an Edelbrock top end! Too expensive. I would go with an Edebrock intake manifold and carburetor, but thats it. Summit's packages are pretty good from what I've read, but can't confirm it.

Vortecs and a cam. You'll need a vortec intake though.

vortec heads and intake would be cool, a lot of mods out there for it. you could always look into getting a fi system and heads off a 96 or 97+ tahoe, suburban or pickup for pretty cheap.

Since you've already got a good intake and carb, why waste money buying a package that has the same things in it? I would get a good pair of heads that will work with what you've got on it now, and add a decent cam and lifters at the same time. That should get you to 350hp without much else.
