mallory bypass regulator problem

Bring it on, I'm a little north of 80 off 294, you have to go past my place to get to 66. If your serious, contact me at camaros4evr@aol.com, we'll go from there, ok? I'll make sure we're not racing that weekend. It'll give me time to get the beer chilled. Bob

No problem. Won't be until later in the summer. Were working on swapping a 6.0L LQ4 into a 04 Dodge Ram for Power Tour. Power Tour is leaving Muskegon on a Sat in early June. Our plan is to drive to Detroit and start the tour and maybe ride out your way. If that plan works out I'd be more than happy to stop in and say hello.

77, it turned out not to be the regulator at all, even though it wasn't put together correctly at the factory. Turned out to be the Aeromotive fuel filter we had between the cell and pump. If you have one of these, and you go to clean out the cartridge, be sure to push the cartridge all the way onto the nipple in the end of the case, we didn't and it wasn't allowing fuel to pass through. Pushed it on all the way, and Viola, it started letting all the fuel through, which fixed our regulator problem too. Talk about chasing our tails, lol. Thanks for all the help though, hope you make it out later this year. Bob

First call me Damon and I have been wondering what happened. I have a Russel 10 micron screen prefilter. I try to stay away from Aeromotive. Their stuff is nice but way over priced. I looked into an A1000 for my car but all the reviews say it is ungodly loud. I am building a car that can cruise on the highway without annoying the crap out of me. I even bought Mangnaflows instead of Flowmasters because of the drone.

Ok Damon, the filter i'm talking about is a rather large 100 micron filter, we also have an Earl's 35 micron filter on the out side of the pump. Today is Saturday, the 19th. My son and I are putting the new hood on this weekend, It's a 6 inch cowl pin-on hood, hope to have the car on the track next sunday. Keep ya posted. Bob

Damon, Don't know if your going to read this but I checked on Yellowbullet and it seems that it was the Areomotive 100 micron filter we have between the cell and the pump. I read that guys were having the same problem we had, and they all said to pull the filter between the cell and pump, so thats what we did, we now have a direct -10 going from the cell to the pump, it is recommended not to run a filter in that position according to Holley. Picked up a 65 micron fuel funnel filter and still running the 35 micron earls after the pump, we went out 2 sunday's ago and no longer losing fuel pressure on the big end. Hope this helps you out in the future. I only wish we could get some good air to run in, weather's been brutal every weekend here. Talk to you soon. Bob

This has been a very interesting thread to me! I've always run the Holley regulators and had good luck with them. I run mine at 5 psi to my twin 450 cfm Holleys on my Pro Dominator. I'm running pre filter on the electric pump, and post filter near the carbs.
On my Camaro I'm running the same setup, but with a mechanical pump to a single Holley. I really like a filter ahead of the electric pump as it seems to make them last longer.
Glad you got it sorted out and working well!

Man it was 99* when I got in my truck this afternoon. No way to run fast in this heat. The dew point in the 70's to boot. Good luck, I'm glad you solved your issues. I don't think my motor has the demand that yours does. I think I'll be ok.
