Major lack of circulation issue!

So all the TBI engines use a Tstat with fitting plumbed in? I'll check the junkyard next time I'm out there!

Thanks! This one, or the Camaro? The Austin is a bit rough now, but hopefully will look better with time!

Yeah, I noticed the temp gauge reads much higher until the stat opens, then it drops significantly. It's still reading higher than the engine I'm sure. I can actually put my hand on the head and feel the difference between the heads and block temperatures. I've got an infrared temp sensor to get surface temps, and I'm going to read the difference, just for my own knowledge.

Part of it is getting past the "OMG it's too hot" feeling, and realizing you're not seeing true engine temperature. Once things with the coolant level out, the temp difference may not be as great. Would be interesting though, to see what the differences are between the two locations.

I won't swear by it. It needs to be a vehicle with gauges. Those have two sensors, one for the gauge and one for the computer. I would just walk through and see what you find, they're pretty common.

I'd guess Chevy trucks might be a good place to look, as they often have gauges, where some cars don't. Have to check out U pull it.

For Camaro 69. As a guy who grew up metal finishing. I looked at mine, the casting doesn't look like it will product a very nice surface finish. It looked like the lowest tier company in China pumped this thing out. It would look like someone through pepper on it if it were shinny.
