Low ground clearance Camaro 73
My Camaro has 14" Cragar wheels which looks nice, but the car is so low, that the two mufflers touch the ground on any little boards or bumps on the road. Do they hang deep as this on a stock exhaust? Can I change this or get an aftermarket exhaust with more ground clearance? Thanks for checking and comments!

Mines tucked up a little more than yours but not by much. I am running 15" wheels. It was on stands when these pics were taken. I could adjust mine up maybe another half inch or so.

Can you alter the exhaust, as in do emissions laws apply? If they don't Pypes, Flowmaster, Magnaflow and a couple others all offer a true duel exhaust but the go into a transverse muffler. Like the stock exhaust was. The pypes kit is much cheaper.

77nomad, thanks for that pic. Interesting, this is the stock exhaust? Sure this gives more clearance, as the muffler is above the drive shaft. Emission laws do not apply on old cars like this here. The tech control just looks for more or less stock condition. But they even let me trough with the non-stock double mufflers...they just liked the car

Well, when I was younger that wasn't an issue. Hell if I were building a street strip car no problem either. The car I'm building is for real pro tour. I want it to be like riding in a new car. No squeaks, rattles, able to talk while driving down the highway. Corvette like, except better handling that a C6.
