i can drop a 454 in it and make it a street and drag monster.
bro i gotto say to complain about not enough room to work on your engine and then talk about putting in a 454 is kinda backwards lol

Lol im going to take ALOT of auto tech classes in college. Right now i just want a 350. I know I can get alot of power out of it and when i know more about engines etc. I would drop a454 in. Its just a dream lol. But you have to admit with 1/2 the engine under the dash and all the stuff crammed in there its hard to get anything done. Then theres the computer system to worry about and tuning.. its confusing.. Ive seen people tune carbs and it looks alot easier and cheaper than tuning a computer (since you dont really need a tuner which are like 200 bucks lol)

I have a friend with a big block in his 80 Z28 even the wheel wells had to go. for a track car who cares but a street car a 350 is fine. I ran AC in my car and went 12.70 with 4.11 gears new trans with stage 2 trans pack and good heads. Any 12 second car on the street running air thats not a Corvette Z06 is great.

For sure. I know i can squeeze alot of power out of GM 350... maybe down the road just get a crate 350 thats been pre-outfitted with some nice internals etc. The whole idea is to get something not so complicated, even if a 454 is huge id still have an easier time working on it than a later model with fuel injection and all that computerized jazz. Hell if i could make 700 or so horses with a 350, add some nitrous.. ill be made in the shade with lemonade.

Ok, talked to my mechanic and heres what hes going to help me do. Hes got a 1980 camaro that hes been building as a project for years now, piece by piece hes been beefing the hell out of it. He said what hes going to help me do is get my car to run 12 seconds (it should already run something close to that he said it just needs a few things done here and there) once we get a time slip saying i ran 12 or close enough to 12 im going to post my car for sale on craigslist for at most 9000 (obo) Ill take the money i get from it invest about 5000, buy a car for 2000 or less (little 4 banger Saturn or Chevymaybe a ford probeetc.) and thenput the rest in the bank for financial stuff (bills etc.) let that 5000 growfor a couple years and THEN buy a car thats worth building.

if you have a mechanic that knows what he is doing you shouldnt have to keep worrying about maintenance, opti's do go out but they should last a few years

Had my opti replaced. I will always have to worry about maintence becuase the idiot who owned my car previously did a really ****ty job at making a close to 12 second car. Thats why ive thrown close to 3grand at my car for repairs. I really want a muscle car that i can just beef the hell out of. I wish i would have thought of this plan when i sold my mustang but i wanted instant gratifaction and a Camaro.. thus im in the situation i am in now.. if i would have sold my Mustang earlier with verylow miles, nice paint, great sound system, tints and a V6 there would have been people out to get my car from the get go for a good price. I could have invested the money i got from that and bought a beater Ford Probe persay and saved the rest i got from the mustang and i could very well be talking to you with a cherry 2nd gen sitting in my drive way instead of a beaten and worn4th genat my mechanics shop.
