Default Looking for a 1979 Berlinetta

Hi all,
This is a very long shot but I'm hoping for a little help. My high school car was a 1979 Berlinetta. It was light metallic blue w/white interior and it had a stock 305. It had a black "Camaro" stickers on the bottom of the doors (similar to the IROC-Z decals). PW/PL, auto. and cruise. It had aluminum wheels, air shocks. I know that I painted the headlight bezels and grill black. I am sure that this is a total long shot but hoping that it may still be on the road. I sold it in Brighton, MI and I believe that the owner lived in Portland, MI near Lansing in the middle of the state. If I can find that car, I would like to find out if it may be for sale or at least give them my contact info. if it ever goes up for sale.

Any help is much appreciated as I know this is a very long shot.

Thank you,
Eric

As a guy who lives here. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts its long rusted into the dirt. Sorry to be so blunt. I had to look long and hard to find a rust free car. My 78 wasn't driven for a dozen years and it was still too far gone. There are ways to track down the VIN to the current owner. I'm not sure how its done though.

I know it is a long shot and that odds are years and rust have taken it toll but I fugured it is worth the effort to see if I can find it. I have been keeping an eye on craigslist and ebay in the hopes that it would pop up. I can't find the VIN in the paperwork that I have an cannot think of any other way to search. Just giving it the old college try.

that carfax site only lets you search from 1981 and up, know of any sites that have older reports?

It will check a car made in any year, but only back to 1981 records. Even if your car is a 50' model.
