Default left directional?

I could use your guys help on this one. My sons 79 Berlinetta keeps having a problem with the front left directional.. When you go to use it the directional stops working. I see a sold light come on to the rear which should tell me the front is burned out. The problem is when I pull the front lamp out it looks good so I put it back in the socket and it works once again. Then give it a couple of days and the same thing will happen again. I replaced the socket because of a broken tab on the inside and the connects are good, it just decides not to work. Any ideas on this one?

Bulb or flasher. Does the turn signal hold solid on the dash in one direction with no sound but blink and click when in the other direction?

I'd put to problem with the flasher if you've all ready checked the bulbs. Just had the same issue with the 93 not even 3 days ago. Replaced the bulbs in the rear that looked worn and there was one that blew out, but when it still didn't fix it, I replaced the flasher. Haven't had trouble since.
