Default K&N filter for 79 berlinetta - which one?

Hi all,

as a first upgrade, I wanted to improve MPG buying a new K&N filter.

My hood has an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburator and this is a picture of it:

The thing is - I don't know which one will suit and where should I measure (inner or outer circle)? Also, why are some filter height different?

I was thinking about this:

K&N HighFlow replacement reusable Air Filter E-1065 | eBay

but I also found this:

K&N HighFlow replacement reusable Air Filter E-1030 | eBay

and this:

K&N HighFlow replacement reusable Air Filter E-1450 | eBay

are all ok or do I need a specific one and only one will fit?

Thanks !!!

You need to measure the existing filter outside diameter, and height. You can go taller for more air flow if your hood has enough clearance.

I think he's overseas and may not have those two options.

Just don't get the filter lid. A good back fire will turn it into a smolering pile, only to get sucked into your running engine.

Hi mr. blue - yes, we have halfords and they just have european cars filter

77nomad, what do you mean by the filter lid (sorry if the question sounds stupid)?

Another question - would a filter like this: be even better as more air goes through?

You mean that the one I just posted is very likely to cause fire under the hood?
