HI, i just went to a car show today and had a run in with a fairly new camaro(2000 or newer). It happened when i was on the way back to my house. I was i my 69 camaro and was sitting at an intersection. He came flying up behind me and i was beginning to wander if he was going to stop. My car was loping when it was idling and he was staring. I looked back at him and gave him a strange look. When we started down the road he that he was cool and decided to pass me at full throttle so i would be jealous. His car had no looks and i just waved my hand at him. Has anyone else had a similar experience of where an ugly later model car trys to show off when they have nothing to show off. If i wanted to a could have left that punk in the dust, probably should have. Write in if you have any comments.

Yeah it happens all the time. There are a few fools that have some mid 80's firebirds and a few Camaros that are always revving up their little stock sounding motors when they get near my car.Even some ricers try to test me. It shuts them up fast when I tap the gas and and spin the back end with ease. If you have more under the hood ,don't waste your time with those clown's. Ticket's just mean less money for gas.

 

yeah, i think its mostly just 69 camaros in general.... casue i have a 69 and its not even that nivce looking yet, but everyone pulls looks and wants to run, but when im in my dads nova, noone ever does that, just in the camaro... its weird

 

I think it's Camaro's no matter what year. I had a 68 442 and never had a problem , but the second there was a Camaro here all hell broke loose.

 

my car barely sounds like it belongs on the street and I still have every rice burner trying to race me. half the time I can't even hear them over my car. at 7 MPG on the highway and less in the city, thye aren't worth my time

 

Yeah, Those big blocks kinda sound loud. And you can feel the thump thump thump. With all that it's hard to feel threatend over a little high revin blender.

 

My '69 is mean enough sounding ( and quick enough to back it up ) that I don't get screwed with too much. When I did, it was usually another Muscle car testing the water.

 

been along time since i had anything to get messed with... back n the day i had a 68 chevy truck with a 550 hp 396 in it. L88 427 solid lift cam in it and it sounded great... my problem was that i had a 456 gear with a th400 so top end was not there at all...but 8th mile was no problem... well camaros and trans ams came out of the wood work but couldnt touch it.. those were the days...

I have a Nova also and it happens to me too
dont let the new stuff fool you some are pretty fast and most all of them are on the bottle or should I say NOS as they call it in the movies
my sons 97 runs high 11's and sounds stock, and his freinds runs low 10's with just a hint of a cam sound from the exhaust
