Post Just purchased some used door shells....

Sooooooo i bought used doors from a 1975 model. It's been gutted but the skin is in good shape, which is why I bought it in the first place for $40. Anywho, I have a 78 LT. I know 70-81 doors are interchangeable, but, how much is? If I take my 78 door apart (crank, armrest, window regulator, etc) and put it on the '75, will everything go in smoothly?

Thanks for reading.

I live in Michigan. The only person with good doors for sale is Sasquach. There both a myth.

yeah I know what you mean. I've been to pick-N-pulls and they're asking $300+ for a banged up pair...umm, no thank you! Well, I wish you find a good deal soon

Oh, and I thought of another question pertaining the door.

Now, these doors have the inch wide chrome molding on the top near the window and I think their called Belt Reveal molding? But my original doors don't have that. Should I take off the chrome molding and stick to the original look of my car or keep it?

The reason why I'm asking is because I'm going to buy weatherstripping soon. I can buy one with OR without the belt reveal molding. What do you think I should do?
Thanks in advance

There are studs on the door. hey can be ground off but it will need pain afterward. Its your car it should look how you want. I personally don't like it.

I don't think I've seen a 1" molding on the doors? I've seen the thin little molding that's part of the window seals, but it's only about 3/16" wide. Is this something later 2nd gens had?

Yeah I personally don't like it either... I might cut off the studs.

427, ok, I could be exaggerating, maybe more like 3/4 inch. It was an option to have a thick chrome molding on the top edge of the door..check it out! (http://www.nastyz28.com/tech/trim/75sidemld.jpg) I have pics of the new doors' chrome and my doors chrome. I'll put them up tomorrow, it's almost 11pm CA time and my camera is in the car...too lazy to get it
