installing equus gauges in stock bezel- pics inside

The only thing you did to the speedo was pop off the trim ring? That ring didn't hold two halves of the speedo case together did it? Although I don't know what that would have done. And, the speedo is strictly a mechanical drive (internally), not a mechanical/electro drive?

yea the trim ring just pops off, it was holding the glass only, and it is mechanical only, no hot or neg wires going to speedo, just 2 light bulbs.
i made sure not to touch the needle or anything.

Could I ask you which wires you spliced into for the illumination on the new gauges? I'm almost ready to install my cluster with a couple new gauges and just wondered if you knew the wire color in the factory harness for illumination? Should I splice into the harness on the headlight switch or the harness that goes into the cluster?

for the illumination (backlit) lights, i actually tapped into the hot wire coming off the light bulb for the wiper switch, was just easier at the time i did it, but i found this link that tells you what each wire does

so number 5, grey wire should work.

I really appreciate the diagram, that'll help a lot! I only installed 2 new gauges (1 mechanical) and keeping the rest factory with some new faces. Don't have a whole lot of wiring to do on this but wanted to get onto the appropriate wires in the harness to do it right. Awesome job on yours, thanks again!
