Default inner fenders

are inner fenders the same from 70-81? it seems like most sites list them as the same and have a chance to buy them off a 71 mint for 20 for the pair. mines a 80 z28... will they work they look the same.

I believe they should bolt up exactly the same.If i remember right, the only thing that changed on them through the years was a few of the bumps in them which would only matter if you were going for a totally correct resto. For $20 though, you cant go wrong on that deal because if they didn't fit,you could probably get 3x that out of them, but i'm almost positive they should bolt up just fine.

I've heard of guys later ones to earlier ones. I don't know they did though. Battery tray mounts maybe, IDK. I was told my 78s were different than my 80s. I haven't put them side by side though.

I never noticed a difference. I have put 71 in a 76, and 74 in a 71 they all look like the 78's I have sitting in storage. Battery is the same. Would image a washer or overflow bottle might be slightly different.

Ok just picked them up and noticed a few differences right off the start. The front battery tray section isn't flat it has a dip in it different bolt holes. It seems like where it bolts to the outer fender is the same I think I will just have to drill some extra holes for washer and coolant bottles but no big deal I think they will work. I'll update later in the week when they go side by side

Ok so it seems like the measurements are a little different. The well looks shorter and the tray portion longer. The 80 one has 2 bolts that go into the rad support the 71 dont. The tray on the 71 dips down while the 80 rises. Idk if they will work until I put them back together. I hope they do... Willing to trade these for 80s if anyone has a few laying around hahaha

If they are in good shape, you can probably make a very nice profit off them then. There are alot of people restoring 67-69's and i'm sure there are some looking for original inner fenders,so i would list them on craigslist or even ebay as a local pick up item.
