Ideas For Paintjob
Im planning on repainting the stripes on my car when I get the new 4in cowl induction hood.
Do you think it would look right with just one big white stripe goin down the middle like this one? Or should I just make the stripes wider?
(Im going to keep the car blue)
White or Black stripe?
Thanks

Well I see a problem with changing, since your present stripes extend to the header panel. Whatever you do it will require repainting the header panel, and maybe the trunk too.
If you do one wide stripe on the hood, will it look "right" with the dual stripes on the trunk? And if you change from silver, can will you just repaint the trunk stripes to match?
If money is no object, then I'd say go for whatever you like. I personally like dual stripes, but the wide single would look good in black if the trunk was matching.
If saving funds was an issue I'd try to save whatever I could from the present look, so I'd repaint the hood and header panel, then go with dual silver to match the trunk, but stop them short of the edge of the header panel, and add the 1/4" stripes along each side; much like the factory SS stripes.
Of course if it's getting a whole new paint job, then you can lay out whatever you want. I do agree that if you go duals again I'd go black, and I'd make them more like the factory look, with wider tapered stripes in front, and the wider striaght stripes in the back. I've got the assembly manual measurements if you're interested in them?

Speaking from experience, you'll get lots of ideas and then probably change your mind numerous times until you get right down to the time to spray it.
I changed my mind a few times in a major way, then once I picked close colors I changed minor details a few more times. I personally like the stock look of Camaros, but custom schemes appeal even more, as long as they're not a radical departure from stock.
I like the dual tapered stripes on the hoods of 2nd gen Camaros much better than 1st gen. with their straight stripes. But I've seen those you pictured with thier single wide stripe, and that's pretty cool too. I even saw one that had dual stripes that started out solid and ended up in ghost flames that looked pretty neat. Not sure how that would look maybe 5-10 years down the road though.
I'm not a big fan of the high contrast stripes seen on most Camaros. Things like light colored cars with black stripes, or dark cars with white stripes. They look nice, but I just like less contrast personally. I think a little darker blue with black stripe(s) would look great on your car. Or even a darker silver stripe(s) with dark blue.
