I just bought my car a little bit ago and notice some oil on the top part of the block by the bolts and stuff today while changing the sparkplugsi decided to check if the bolts were loose and they were so i went around thightening all the bolts and they all moved w/ ease. I wasn't over thightening them but one of them just snapped on me at the head of the bolt.
Would there be any problem driving home today as i did this on my lunch break and any easy fix for this. A friend told me that you can use a small drill bit and drill into the bolt and take it off that way.

 

without knowing what bolt broke it would be hard to say the outcome of driving it like that. from what little you said i'm assuming it's an intake bolt.oil will usually pool around them once the gasket is wore out. if this is the case it will be ok. if it is an intake bolt, you will have to drill it out and replace it. if it starts sucking air it will run like ****. there are different methods for getting a broken bolt out. sorry to say sometimes the only thing that works is a good set of drill bits and a steady hand. if you have never drilled out a bolt, find someone who has. you could make it worse. hope all goes well.
