Well, lik e everyone's saying it is a personal preference. There's so many things you can do in the way of paint now with candies, pearls, metallics, suedes, etc. Sherwin Williams even has self healing clear coats now that will close up small gaps made from dings in the road. There's a huge article in the latest hot rod magazine that gives you many options and tips on things that you might not have even thought of. My favorite colors are actually the ones that 73CamaroSS suggested with green and black.

I think if you gave us something YOU lik e we could tell you about the options you could do with those color schemes. Even if you said, "I lik e red" we could come up with cherry, fire engine red, etc., etc. that are totally different shades and tones. We could even give you suggestions on what type of paints to us e lik e pearls, metallics, flats, suedes, etc. We might even be able to find reference pics for you online that could give you an idea and direction to go in.

My plan is tohave mine done with a gold metalflake base coat, mask off the s/s stripes and then spray a nice candy burgundy over that, unmask it, and then a couple coats of clear, then Ill park it in the garage and never drive it.......

 

but its no fun with it being parked and all

 

I was kidding... If I were to get the big $$ for that paint job Id drive it around. The parking lots are the worst.

 

I think most cars look best black, but especially 78-81 camaros, especially if its a z28
