Default I need a 2nd gen Interior specialist!

I am almost done redoing my whole interior black. I just can't get the front kick panel out (where the parking brake is) and the dash. Does anyone know how to take out the parking brake and dash? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated thanks!

first remove the screws. I think their are 6, 2 are above the ashtray. Pull out on the bottom of the dash and stick ascrewdriver up behind your gauges and disconnect your speedometer (it has a clip you must despress). If your shifter gauge (PDRN321) is up there you must disconnect that as well unless you have a floor shifter then there is a different clip up there on the steering column. Then basically disconnect everything else like you headlight **** and cigarette lighter. Now you can take out the guages. You should be able to figure out every thing else from there. There were two different dashes used from 70-81 but that should get you close enough.

Oh and make sure you disconnect the battery. Else you might get shocked on the cig lighter...haha

I think you will need to remove your parking brake to get out your kick panel. it has been a long time since I did a second gen but I think that's what I remember

there is a stud sticking thru the kick panel that goes thru the e-brake bracket with nut, take that nut out.there is 2 more under the hood behind the master cylinder towards the fenderwell.they are the only 2 nuts you see and they are about 3 inches apart.when you get them out ,you can pull the e-brake bracket out of the way or remove the clip and take the cable loose from the bracket and remove the whole assembly.you will have to remove the chrome strip in the door jam and the pillar post trim to get the kick panel out, because they go under these 2 piece's
