Default How rare are T-tops on a '71 Camaro??

I just bought a 1971 Split bumper Camaro and it has T-tops with some vinal on the front window posts and behind the t-tops covering the remainder of the roof. I heard t-tops may have been dealer option only in this year, but I'm not sure. Is a t-top car in this year worth more than a hardtop?? thanks and what can be told about my car by the vin number or any other numbers/tags I may find?? thanks, I'm new to these cars.

Anyone have any info?? I talked with an old GM guy and he said it probablly was an original vinal top car and that they didn't start installing aftermarket t-tops until the mid 70's, so he thinks they may have been dealer/aftermarket installed in '75-'76 possibly.

Yeah, they didn't offer T-tops until like 77 or later. It's too bad they chopped it. I would say that it would decrease the value of the car although the only camaros from 70 to 73 that are worth anything are SS (1970), Z28 and RS/Z28 yours is probably an RS.
