Default how do you get the rubber dust cover boot on a Moog lower ball joint?

I did a search and the most common answer is to buy parts from another company (like Energy). Thats not what I want to do. Id like to use the ones I have so I can get this put back together.

Does anyone have a trick or tip to getting the rubber dust cover boots ona Moog 6145T lower ball joint?

the lower BJ's have a dome shaped boot that has a metal ring inside the rubber. that metal ring is very close to the exact size of the part of the BJ its supposed to go over.

Picture a cylinder like a paper towel roll. call it a 1.5" diamter
Picture a rubber o-ring with a metal wire encased in in it with a 1.49" diameter

now i gotta figure a way to squeeze that over with out damaging the rubber.

Put the ball joint in the freezer? But really think I used a piece of pipe. That was April and I can't remember, jeez.
