Default help! motor casting #'s dont match up!

ok so i got this 1979 camaro and i wanted to find out what i have exactly. question is. nothing matches up for the motor

the suffix and date code is T0102DTW

the rear casting # is 460777= says 305

the little code on the right side back were it say LT5 or any of those says T19

my Vin # for the car states i have a 350 though

it acts like my dads 350. so im pretty puzzled right now. if anyone has ever heard of a DTW suffix let me know. i will try and post pixs if anyone needs them but DTW is clear as day to read.

thanks.

Based on the casting #, there's no question that you have a 305.
T0102DTW...Tonawanda Plant...01=January...02=2nd day of the month.
There is also a "TW" suffix code which is for a 1978 305, 145 h.p.
Is it possible the "D" being there is a mis-stamp? Based on past history with GM's stamping quality control, anything's possible.
The fact still remains, you have a 305 that replaced the original 350.

im pretty sure its a 305. the heads match up as a 305. the casting # says its a 305. this says its a 305. so im pretty convinced its a 305. also my holly 600CF wont ever open the 2nds up on it. i think 600CF is alot for a 305. so all the signs are sayin its 98% a 305. now to look for a 350 to put back in there. later on. its going back in to then get ran on till it dies. but by that time hopefully i will have a new motor waiting.

Well the 305s may not be a powerhouse but they are a pretty tough little motor.

yeah idk the millage on it but im sure ill get some happy running out of it when i get a new carb for it. i dont think my holley 600CF is a great idea for it right now. lol i ran it since i found it and it always ran rich and clicked and ticked and the accelerator pump felt like it pumping too much. the 2nds wouldn't open. lol basically my 600CF primaries were more than enough to run the 305. so im going to find a holley 400CF and run that so it operates the way it should. with proper jets and and adjustments. vs a carb that would be great for a 350

whats somethings i could do to it to bump a little more power out of it decides a new cam? i got a edelbrock manifold. and im getting some headers and a new carb that is a better fit for the 305. any other things i could do.? whats a good timing for it also. i ran timing that would make a 350 happy but i dont know about the 305. im at 8degrees right now. it was on 4 when i got it but i advanced it because SBC like timing.
