Default help..70 rear end

Ok, I know this has been around alot, but, need to know if anyone has done any rear end rebuilds, what is the most cost effective way? Have a non posi 10 bolt now, got an estimate to rebuild it locally for 1400 w/ 3.70 gears, and a auburn posi, new bearings and seals. Found a rear end at a local boneyard for 150 could rebuild it my self and still use the car till its done, but have never done that type of job yet. Acrate will cost 1500-2100 would like to stay under a thousand.Opinions??

Well, parts alone are going to run you $700-$1000, and if you don't know how to do the job, it could end up costing you more. $1400 is not a bad price for the job and Auburn is about the best L/S on the market.
