I'm having an issue with my HEI distributor. There was a short from the main 12v wire on the distributor shaft that killed half the wiring. There wasn't power going to the distributor anymore. I invested money into a brand new American Autowire Classic Update harness for the whole car so now power is going to the distributor.
The issue I'm having now is the HEI computer isn't being grounded correctly. The power properly goes to the computer outside of the distributor but once it's put back in the distributor doesn't get power to the other side so there's no spark.
The distributor is grounded to the engine, the cap is newly replaced, and I've double checked the wiring and it is all correct.
Are you referring to the spark module? This is a common failure point and I have replaced 100's of them, Is this a China knock off or something? Normally the electronica is sealed in a case and not serviceable. New modules cost less than 20 bucks stock.

Thanks for the reply. It is the module. Sorry, my lingo is still pretty bad. It's from a speedmaster pro series and that the only place I found it at was on Jegs. It's an old PC6000 series from the looks of it. I wasn't the original owner of the car who put this distributor in so that's all I can go on for now:
