Heads for my 327 need insight/opinions
#13
I've already bought too many parts for this 327 that have that dreaded "Not made in the USA" sticker on them and I can't stand it. This is American muscle we're talking about here! I don't know how those heads perform and/or hold up and while being fully aware and a believer in the You get what you paid for philosophy, you do see a lot of people using those heads. I'm watching a set of 487 heads on ebay that have been completely rebuilt and are already cut down for screw in studs/guideplates. Hope I can have a little luck swing my way and get a good deal.

Of course they do! I'm sure there's shops all over (excluding Northern Michigan) that remanufacture those heads, I just need to find a good deal like that. There's still a week left on this auction I'm watching and I'm already sure that there will be no "deal" to be had. Already up to $250 with $75 for shipping. I won't mind paying a bit more if I can get a set that are ready to bolt on. Just can't pay hundreds for heads then hundreds more for machining. I know these heads are all over the place, just nothing good local. I asked my machine shop if there was anything around and I got an abrupt "nope." I found a set of World Products S/R's with 1.94's but would need all the machining for my bigger studs etc. Guy wants too much and can't guarantee they're not cracked.... Think I'll keep looking.
