Default headers ? what brand ?

i have a 71 camaro . i am looking at the patriots and hookers brand in the shorty version. what i want to know is who has fitted either or any other brand and know if they bolt straight in with no mods. i have power steering and power booster but no aircon.

Just wondering why you want to go with shorties, clearance reasons?

I went with hooker super comp ceramic coated (long) headers. Tried others, but didnt fit w/my angled plug heads (350 eng.) Was told by a couple of sources that hooker is the only mfgr that makes headers that fit my 70 with that engine. Same quest. as Camaro 69, why shorties?

yes just for clearance. our roads over here are less forgiving than yours and also the car is reasonably low. i would prefer full length but im sure i would be scrubbing everywhere with them.

I went with Wysco headers that are mid-length. With power steering, power brakes and A/C I had zero problems with fit. They are not well known but a friend of mine said to check them out. They are ceramic coated and look great, the primaries are ample sized and feed 3" collectors. Best of all they have full 3/8" thick flange at the heads and seal very well. All that and the price to my door was less than $200. I have a 2 1/2" Flowmaster exhaust system and it all fits tight to the underside of the car. I can fully deflate the air and the pipes still clear the ground.
