Header trouble
having trouble with my headers, i took them off and put a new gasket on then proceeded to try and bolt everything back up (had a busted exhaust gasket and noticed that only two bolts were holding my headers up) any how i bought new hooker headers and decided to just used those bolts to put the old ones back on for just the moment until i could get time to put the other headers on any way basically i could put the bolts on the left side of each header but not the right couldnt get a socket around it (may try again later) but was wandering if any one knew why its smoking so bad (which i think its because the headers arent completely sealed), and im going a few flames from my carb and nasty sounding engine, sorry hope it doesnt confuse any one, just alittle upset i couldnt get this problem fixed.
Did you possibly knock off a plug wire, or crack the porcelain on one of the spark plugs while swapping the headers?
And I don't like using the hex-head header bolts, they're still a pain. Try allen head bolts instead. If you go to a parts store such as Auto Zone, you'll find that the allen head intake manifold bolts they sell work very well for the headers instead. Even with that, I ground the short end of an allen wrench way down to clear the headers on a couple of bolts.

Thanx for the help, ille be heading up to advanced this weekend or something and try and find those bolts and ille check the spark plug wires, i have the moroso clips that prevent them from getting hit but i could have pushed something out of place thanx again.
