H.I.D. Lights
I have factory HIDs on my daily driver (300M special) and they do a very good job. Just make sure they are aimed properly as they can really blind oncoming drivers. Also, you may have some issues with safety inspections, as DOT only permits factory installed HIDs.
We don't really have safety inspections where I come from? Michigan is really not stringent. I don't have D.O.T. approved tail lights on my truck and no problems there. Cops really only have problems with saftey items such as burnt out lights or tail lights and they still aren't very strict on that. State Troopers are a different story, they care about tinted windows and things of that sort. We don't have a separate DMV office, our secretary of state handles it.
I was born in NY. I've never driven there so I couldn't tell you. New Jersey is really strict!!! You can't be on the cell phone while you're driving. All their gas stations are full service. My mom lives there and I had to fix my old car. Took a road trip and that was fun. I had the CB radio hooked up in my truck and flying 95 on the Ohio and Penn. Turnpikes lol. I didn't know NYC was strict with all that.

You are pretty lucky where you are. Where I am, NYC metro, we have the same rules as California, and it is very hard to get away with anything.

I was born in Queens, but I live in Michigan right now. One of these days when I get my car running... and can afford Iraq's oil. I think we'll be seeing eachother only online here. IF we ever do meet, I'll be driving my truck lol
