Default goin from column to floor

Just curious, what all needs to be done to go from a column shifter to a floor shifter aside from getting a floor shifter and cutting a hole in the floor! Does any of the linkage need to be changed or anything like that?

Depends on what you use for a floor shifter. If it's a stock shifter, then you need the shifter, and cable, plus the correct arm for the trans. Also need to make sure you've got neutral safety switch and reverse switch. You'll need the linkage to go to the indicator on the dash too.
If you go B&M all you need is the kit with neutral and reverse switches. I see a lot of nice used B&M Megashifters at swap meets for a fraction of the new price. I paid $17 for the one in my '71, but it needed a $32 cable. I just bought another to put in my '69 Suburban for $25 complete with cable and boot.

Ya I already have a B&M hammer shifter that I have had for about 7 years now that I bought to go in the car. (some serious procrastination and other projects). Just wasn't too sure about any type of linkage!

No linkage with the B&M, it's a cable operated system. You will have to check the kit to see if it has the two switches, and buy them, wire them, if they aren't in the kit. Most don't come with switches.

Can you post up some pics of the column shift Camaro. There was and argument a year ago or so about if they even existed.

I thought someone posted a pic back then of their column shift Camaro that settled the question? Looks like we've got another confirmation now!

They may not have been all that rare back when they were first built but these days you cant hardly find one that has a column shift. When I did the research on my car about the column shift I was surprised at how many were actually made with the column shift!
