Default Gauge size

Hey i just bought my second camaro a 1975 lt i want to swap the gauges for autometer gauges as it is a nice beat up yellow and i am doing a bumblebee clone so i was looking for the gauges on autometers webpage and searching Google for sizes but i can find the sizes i need to use i dont want to buy them and it not fit right any help is appreciated thanx

ok i'm taking a stab at that i think the speedo and tach (i have the U14 gauges) are 3 3/8" because the only other in dash speedo's and tachs are 5" and i am pretty sure they are not 5" (i would just measure them but the car is not with me at the moment)

So what sizes do you want? Are you going with a new dash insert, or reuse your's with new gauges? Might try Schucks or O'Reilly also for Equus gauges. Less than half the cost of Autometer, and they look like knockoffs of the big brands.

i am using my stock dash insert (funding wont allow new one) but yeah what ever i can get that is as close to stock size

A stock gauge is an odd size, so you'll most likely need to cut the openings to fit aftermarket. 1.5" will be close, and 2" will fit an enlarged hole.

I know in one of my camaro books the 6pc auto meter set uses the 3 3/8 speedo. plus if you just buy a blank insert you can make the holes and they run under $200

Here's my gauges in a hogged out stock bezel. 5" speedo and tach and the rest are the smaller of the two other sizes. 2 1/16.

ok so the closest in size for the tach and speedo are 5 inch? also did you use anything to hold them in the back or just the cups are enough any help would be great i have never done this on a car before thanx a lot

They don't have cups behind. They have a bracket that bolts across the gauge and holds the gauge against the face plate.
