Fun day under the Camaro

Ha, "pop"... can tell you're a northerner from that statement alone.
My neighbor has one and I borrow it all the time. In fact it's sitting under my roof right now. I guess when he needs it he'll come and get it.

The problem with that is, I buy all my tools, everyone borrows them from me, then when I need them again, I can't remember who borrowed them and I have to buy them again. I try not to loan anything out anymore.

Nope. That's a West Coast thing! My family back in upstate New York (pretty far north! ) is always razzing me for not saying "soda" instead of "pop". I think it's a East vs. West thing.

Hey Val. I've been following a thread over on the Nasty site. Don't you have the same hood? And if so did it come with these kind of problems? http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182435

I agree thankx. I need all the clearance I can get. The solid body mounts I installed drop the body 1/2" on the frame. I think the sharper drop of of your hood is the way to go.

Definitelya west coast thing because I grew up in Washington and we always called it pop. I caught all kinds of crap for it when I moved to Texas.

I checked out that post and was surprised at NPD rep's reply about the various makers of body panels. Goodmark has always insinuated that their stuff is made to GM specs on old GM dies. It sounds like their stuff is just marketed better!
I didn't find the few Goodmark parts I bought to be any better or worse than OER. Most of mine was OER, but a few parts like bumper brackets were Goodmark. I had to ream out those brackets, just like I had to ream out the holes in my fender panels, and my header panel. The only part on my car that fit perfect was the hood, and it is still not up to snuff thickness wise in my opinion. None of the repop makers are selling sheetmetal that is equal in strength to original panels.
I dented my hood the first time I closed it because I was used to pushing down over the latch to close my old hood. My hinges were a little stiif and I couldn't just slam the hood, so I closed it, then pushed it down to latch. When I did the metal popped in and didn't return fully! I had to add some metal support underneath, and then fill the dimple on top.
If I bought another repop hood I'd fill the area above the latch with expanding foam to reinforce it before I ever installed it on the car.
