Default Fuel line return

I am planning on replacing all fuel lines on my 81 Z28. I am doing this because I think my Holley is leaning out because of not enough fuel being delivered to the carb. Question is if I plug the fuel return line at the fuel tank will this effect fuel delivery? I do plan on replacing the pickup inside of the tank also so everything will be new. Is there any options for a single line sending unit? I did find one but it was the wrong year and wrong engine size.

Having a return line is an enhancement over a single line setup, because it's easier on the pump, and having the fuel continuously moving and circulating can keep it cooler before it gets to the carb. Why do you want to do away with that?

How do you hook up a return line on a Holley mechanical fuel pump? It has no connections for it at the pump

You could install a return style fuel pressure regulator.

OK that makes sence. Thanks for the info. I think I make it harder than it needs to be sometimes.

You are just on the learning curve, you are not going to know everything.
