Flared ‘70 Camaro With Hotchkis Suspension
#12
The aluminum rails on the roof help stabilize air flowing over the car on racecars, but are mainly for looks on the Spectre Camaro. But if you’ve been paying attention to Spectre lately, they do typically race their cars in low and high-speed driving events, so there’s a good chance they’ll be putting them to use in the future. Since they are using Hotchkis suspension we’ll keep you updated on their adventures in the Carbon Camaro.

Probably hand fabbed from sheetmetal, and then welded to the factory 1/4 panels. They used to make them in fiberglass, but I don't think they're in production any more.

I saw this car Thursday during PowerTour. If you think the rear flares are cool look close at the front. The fronts are flared the same way. I wish it wouldn't have been covered in wax or I would have snapped a pic. I did get two Spectre stickers though. Oh yeah, I remembered our conversation about the roof rails as soon as I saw it. It seems to be 1/2" aluminum angle stock that has been bent to fit the roof line and then profiled at the front and rear. I didn't like the screws all the way down it though.

Vall, if it comes near you, get there at all costs. I still can't wrap my mind around 4000+ cars. We (me and a buddy) are scheming on how where gonna run the whole tour next year. He was stationed in Texas for years and was the guy who hooked me up with my Nova. He pulled it out of a field and drove it home INSIDE a U-Haul. Anyhow, he still has friends there and now were thinking we should visit.
