hello I'm new, just bought my first project car, my 1979 Camaro Z28. It already had some mods done to it, although the kid that had it before me didnt really know what he was doing and made several mistakes, tore out all the heating and A/C components (except the vent covers), cut a hole in a $500 FIberglass Cowl hood to fit an air filter that was too big, he then tried to install the factory scoop over the hole on the cowl hood, even drilled all the holes but then realized it wouldnt look right and took it off and patched the holes. its a great car though, minimal surface rust, no major repairs needed, hell it still has the Z28 emblem on the gas cap flap. havent done too much to it yet, new hood pins, new spark plug cables, new water heater hose (the old one pinched shut because it was too short). the car is a beast, still has the factory glass packs on it and everything. will post pics later.

Welcome! Sounds like some repairs need to be done from the previous owner's mistakes, but at least he didn't start chopping on the main body!

 

Pretty sweet! Sucks about the hood though.

 

Be happy the previous owner didnt decide to backhalf the car. lol
