As a guy who spent his 20s working in the custom metal finishing business. I can say without any doubt in my mind F NO!!! I see defects that most people don't, I don't want to spend more time polishing the firewall than driving. Besides, this isn't a show car. Its a race car with license plates.

Silver then. The pigments are lighter and in a race car those 2g can make all the difference

Funny, I once saw an interview with John Force and he said that they painted the cars white because its lightest. It makes sense. What ever I gained I lost welding my subframe seams.
