Finding out what year parts fit which other years.
Hello again.
I've been searching craigslist for parts, and found some great deals! Obviously not many '75 parts, though. Not too popular. Rather than asking specifically about my situation, I would like to know how you guys would go about finding out which parts from one year would fit into another year. Hopefully I can take it from there. I know there's a couple obvious changes like grilles, tail lights, and head lights, but do things like doors change by year?
Thanks

Yea there are 70-7-73or4 doors. The differance is the inside handle. which as long as you get the matching doorpanel, your good. The dashes changed in 79. So two options there. The control arm bushings changed around then too, as well as the inner wheel bearing. I may be wrong on the control arm bushing though. I want to say it was an early car thing. Then the interiors changed too. The consoles go from 70-73 74-80, and 81 was its own thing. The map pocket in the front got ditched to hide the computer.

The quarter wont work either. Most of it can be used for a patch though. The area around the tail lights is off. The cut out for the light specifically. I didn't meantion that because you meationed the rear in yor post. The floors are different from 75 up and the trunk is different after 77ish?

Thread revival time!
I appreciate the help with this, however, my question was more about how I could learn all of the changes myself. Is it just head knowledge, or is there somewhere I can look to? I don't want to bother the Camaro forums everytime I see something that looks like a good deal.

One very simple way is to go to one of the Camaro resto supply sites: NPD, Classic Industries, rickscamaros, etc.
If the part you're looking for is available in the aftermarket, they will show the year fitment range.

Do like I did. Tear your car apart five or six times. Then a stack of catalogs next to the throne to study. There will be an exam later. Followed by a Theseus statement on GM's astro ventilation system.
