so you're putting an electric fan on the same side as the regular fan AND you're keeping the regular fan? why, why, why?????

I was wondering the same thing. If you put an electric fan then you shouldnt need the mechanical fan imo. As long as the new one is pushing enough cfm. If your car can't cool with just one of those then there is a problem.

I have both too. The mechanical fan works fine for street driving, and the asthetic value, while I use my dual thinflexalite elect. fans for when im sitting in traffic, which I turn on when the temp hits 200. They work great together, esp. on hot summer days...

the only way you should use two fans, is if you run your electric fan in front of the radiator

Could you elaborate on that? Wouldnt a pusher fan have to work harder, based on its design, restricting more airflow from the fans motor housing--thereby using more electricity, and running longer to cool at the same rate, than a puller fan, which doesnt restrict the natural flow of air through the front of the radiator? Or, is there another reason?

I see,out here in San Diego it doesn’t get very hot, but I also don't drive during peak commute hours.

huh?

basically if he is running a fan off of the water pump, he will use that as his primary fan, and then if his car gets too hot from sitting in traffic, he can supplement that by turning on the electric fan, acting as a pusher,in front of the radiator
