Default fan belt question

Hi All,
I have a 79 camaro with a 350. No power steering, no AC. Fan/drive belt goes around crank pully, fan and alternator. I need to replace it and everything Ive found has been "V" belts. The belt that is on it now has ribs on the pulley side that mates up with the pulleys. Will a V belt work for my application? that seems to be all I can find for replacements.
Thank you

A little issue in changing from serpentine belt to V belts, as most serpentine belt systems on GM cars have reverse rotation water pumps, so if you change to V belts you might need to change your water pump also to an old style to get proper cooling.
I'd also guess that your parts stores are trying to look up the correct belt for a '79 Camaro, and all they come up with are V belts. If you have the old belt they should be able to either get the old number off it, or measure it, and get a proper serpentine replacement for it.
