Default Exhaust Tips

Ok getting new system on my 1980 Z28 friday, New from headers back with Flowmaster 40's I doesnt think he can run 3 in will probably have to be 2.5 but WHAT tips would look good im open for ideas here. Also i have no Cats on it Think is should sound good ??

get the chevy bowtie tips. i love those things. that or the ones on the trans am that have dual tips on each side and face down

with flowmasters im sure you will. i had dynomax on my 79, they were ok.but my friend got flowmasters on his 93 camaro. wow, i forget what series they were but his car sounds amazing

Cool, last time i did anything it was a cherry bomb dont even know if they still make those, also im thinking he may be able to run 3 inch if i drop it out in front of the tires but will only be 2.5 and 2 over the axel if its tight

Cherry bombs are most definitely still around.
If you drop it out before the wheels, it'll be louder and will flow better, due to less exhaust bends and piping. I mean think of blowing through a straw, it's easier if the straw is shorter.
Gotta love the bombs though. Be sure to post up clips when it's done, it sounds gnarly.

Will see if i can figure how to do that. Must say this is a good project to increase my patients, i like it NOW well thats not going to happen so at 43 im learning to hide some cash away for the little projects

Speaking literally, an '80 Z28 is far from a "little" project...
I mean, you have acres of real estate up front for motor...
Not to mention the second gen is wider than the truck i used to drive.
Post up what you come up with.

Yea next step will be the 700R4 tranny conversion i really need that OD to help the cost of a fun weekend drive. Also isnt suppose to hurt my take off at all.

A 700R4 is a good trans.
Any other mods in mind?
