exhaust cutoffs
#3
Cheap all day at either of those. Electric sounds like a good idea but I don't have much faith in a motor that lives on an exhaust system. Heat soak just like a starter motor. Also how well would it seal after a few times open and close. Carbon dust would build up on the surfaces. I just think it would sound like a leaky collector gasket after a while. The style Vall has on the Austin seem more reliable. Just three thumb screws and a headache away from open headers.

It's cheaper and easier to just buy an extra collector and have it cut into the system when they do your exhaust. I got a pair of collectors for $10 and just made blank plates from collector rings welded into the plates, but you can also buy blank plates cheap.
