Exclamation Electrical problems HELP!!

Ok, this car is going to be the death of me I swear. I changed the transmission back in july and had to take the starter off, and now it has some sort of electrical problem. The guy that had it before me cut the wires coming off the starter in 2 different places and didn't solder them back together, just used the butt splice connectors and those came apart. I tried to put them back together the same way but when i started it back up i turned the lights on and everything stopped, and there is a buzzing noise and none of the lights work and there is no spark but the engine turns over. I have worked on this same problem for weeks and can get nowhere on it. I need help from someone that knows more than i do about electrical, can anybody help me?

Sounds like you've lost your main feed wire that hooks to the battery terminal on the starter. Also probably lost your fuseable link on the wire too if someone was cutting and chopping.
There should be one larger gauge wire that is supposed to be about 10 awg. and has a fuseable link in it; that wire goes to the same 3/8" lug on the starter that the battery attaches to. The other two wires are for ignition and starting. One goes to the S terminal to start the car, and the other to R for ignition. If they are swapped it wont start, so just try them one way and swap if they wont start.
Make sure if the large #10 wire doesn't have a fese link that you put one in. It is there to keep the electrical system from burning the car down.
