Default EGR question

Starting to work on the 350 engine of my 80....the question: What to do with the EGR valve? I have a replacement, but am not sure which orifice to use with it...it came with about 5. I see no oem number on the one I removed. Or should I just chuck it...and put in a block off plate?

Yeah I'd like to see what it looks like. A correct replacement EGR valve should have only one vacuum nipple on it, that's all your car uses. Put one on or block it off, it's your choice. You're not really going to see a difference in performance either way, but the EGR valve does help to lower combustion chamber temperatures.

Here are pix of the EGR I have (bought from autozone), and the one removed. The new one came with about 5 differnt pieces that fit into the bottom of the EGR...what do you think?

Hey guys...got it figured out. I was able to sand the rust off the old EGR, and find the oem number....then I looked it up, and found that with my replacement, that oem number requires no additional orifice adapter....easy.

Thanks for your time.... and I'm sure I'll have another question in, oh.....30 minutes or so! LOL
