Default EFI whos got it, who wants it?

as some of you may know Im building a 2nd gen with my son. he likes what I did with my bike and wants the same on his car. on my bike I used throttle bodies from an EFI bike, GM sensors, and the ECU was from Megasquirt the system works well but requires a high level of tuning knowlege. Im thinking of useing either one of Fast efi's systems or holly's avenger or dominator system for his car so he can learn how they work and build his tuning abilities. both these systems have self tune capabilities as well as laptop hook ups for fine tuneing. question is is anyone here running one of these? any pro's cons? anyone want one done research your willing to share?

i had it on my 436 with a stelth ram didnt really like it,went back to carb, but i ran the holley commander 950 the mega squirt might do a much better job, could never get it dialed in right one day it would run fine the next it was running pig rich, wasnt worth the hassle to me went thru 3 sets of plugs just to get it running right, alot had to do with the stealth ram the 2 front cylinders always ran lean so the others were flooding.

I am not sure what EFI I will run but I am not shooting for pie in the sky HP. A nice low tomid range power motor with 3 to 400 HP with a nice 5 speed tranny will do just fine.

that will make a great street motor dont need all that power and will be much easier to tune, also should get pretty decent fuel mileage thats what im planning for my 87 irocz too about 400 hp 406 and and maybe an rpm performer set up for efi.

I dont know about AFR heads as I dont have 5k+ to throw at it but who knows the boy knows what he likes and aint afraid of work so well see. he's hoping for every pony he can muster one thing I deffinatly like about megasquirt is I can detune/retune it in a keystroke so I can retard timing and set a low redline and cut fuel/spark or both. this way theres NO STREET RACING! Ive told him if someone wants to race we go to the track period. however Im not sure the holly or the fast systems are as open ended as the megasquirt

Do you still have the Steath Ram? I have been wanting one for a long time.
