Default Door Lock Mechanism Help

Hi Guys, I am trying to get my door locks going on my 71 Camaro, it had locks in the doors, but they are not connected to anything. I got onto Camaro Central's website, as they seemed to be the only one I could find with all the internal rods and bits I think I need, they showed a door lock kit with 3/8" medium cyls, and the lock pawls that said for medium cyls, but I cant see how they fit together, I have email Camaro Central twice and they never reply, I have posted a couple of pics to see if anyone can steer me in the right direction.

I can't see the pictures for some reason possibly since I'm new to the forum, but on my 71, on the lock you have the pawl coming off the lock cylinder and then there should be a rod coming off of the latch itself that the goes into the end of the lock pawl.

Hi Wayne, those pawls don't appear to be compatible with your locks. IIRC the lock should go through both the holes in the pawl and be secured with a retainer.

I thought the same, it seems that all these websites selling these reproduction products know how they work, Camaro Central reconed I purchased the correct items, medium length locks and pawls, and they don't even fit together. I think I might have to try and make some pawls to suite.
Thank you for the help.

It would appear you don't have the correct locks. Take a look at the length of the shaft on these, which are for your year: Airtex 9D1009 Door Lock Cylinder Set | eBay
