Dash Cap vs New Dash
#21
you might want to wait to order. I played around with the broken cap.. Just trying it for fit etc. I may not even reinstall the pad I removed. I think that I will use some thin styrofoam and "pack out" the plastic piece. My original is in worse shape than I thought or the cap doesn't fit correctly. I will check out further tomorrow.

NPD ha always been very service oriented, and quick to take care of issues when they pop up. Glad they're putting adhesive in now, but not sure slicone would be my choice for adhesive. I guess they know what's best for their product though.
Try fitting the new cap without replacing the old foam first, then check it to see where it might need ssupport. Big gaps will make it harder to secure well.

I am still waiting for a reply from NPD. Guess I'll call them back.
This is the tube supplied with the cap.
I do have a chance to play around with the cap. I think it will look good when done. The only issues that I can for see are around the instrument panel. When I fit the final trim piece. it seems to interfere. I'll wait until I have the new one. I will then install the pad ande all parts in the car. Then I'll know if it's right and can plan to pack out.
