Default control arm shims

While changing to disc, I decided to pull my “A” arms and replace the bushings and ball joints. I have about a 1/4 inch of shims on each of the two bolts on both control arms. This seams like a lot of shims. Is it? Also, once I get everything put back together, I am going to need an alignment. I have not seen these shims in any of my catalogs. Where can a get them? I would like to get a verity –it looks like they come in 1/16 of an inch increments. Thanks…

They actually have different thicknesses. A body shop would actually carry them (believe it or not). The alignment shop should have a supply too. They do have a lot of shims for a more adjustment parameters. I personally have 4 on each bolt.

Just put the shims back where they came out and get an alignment. Or if you need spares look where your fender bolts to the body. You might find a few there.
