Confused
I went out today to look at what looked like a 75 LT... The body is toasted after spending it's first 20 years in upstate NY. What threw me on this car was the VIN did not match what I understood about the body. The Vin read 1S87H4Nxxxxxx but it has the wraparound back light.... Any ideas if this is a fake or a real 74?
1974-77 has the same wrap around tail lights. But if by "light" you're referring to the back window, then yes, 75 was the first year, and something's funky with the car.
That is what I found strange... the rear glass was not what it should have been for a 74 like the Vincent says. I have had two 75's a 76, a 70 RS an 80 so I know the second Genwell. That was why I was confused. I think the dash has been swapped in that car.
Yeah, the dash or just the VIN tag. Another possibility is a previous owner could have put on the older style body panels and window. Or maybe the car was in a wreck and Dr. Frankenstein put it back together. That car definitely needs more investigation if you're looking into buying it.
No it is WAY WAy to rusty for me to even think about it... The motor is in parts all over the car... and it has been sitting next to this guys house since 1999... I think I will pass this one by.... The Search goes on..
