complete exhaust system help!!
1978 Z-28 camaro restoration 350ci
I would like a set of headers, dual exhaust, with new catalytic converters
I want it to sound good and perform well
I am not an expert in what I need
Who sells the whole set
I am afraid of piecemealing it together and getting crap
Who's the expert here?

Flowtech Headers are pretty damn good, they can flatten the power and torque curve pretty good with out sacrificing either. Get the gaskets for it too (click the link on recomended parts)

This is the whole matched exhaust kit.

If you feel gutsy, I would recomend an X pipe to help give you a little bit more power.

Just be sure to match up the diameter. You will prolly want to get a tail pipe expander if you're going to use clamps. I recomend welding. If you are going to go with the X pipe, take your stock exhaust and then take a crayon to the exhaust. Start from the collector back and while the motor is running (and the exhaust is hot) drag the crayon and when it starts to melt, that's where the cross over should be.

RE: complete exhaust system help!!
I am just putting Hooker Headers and flowmaster muffs on my 67. I am eliminating the cat. converter (don't tell). I just want it loud and fast! Good luck if you aare doing it yourself, on a scale of one to ten, it was an eleven!

Match the inlet and outlet sizes. Just install it after the collector and before the rest of the exhaust.
Use a reducer so it bolts to the header and then cut the exhaust to compensate for the cat. and then use the pipe expanding tool so you can insert the back half of the exhaust over the cat then clamp it or weld it.
