Default ceramic coated headers

ok i bought flowtech brand ceramic coated headers and in 3 months they have surface rust?? no pitting and i can wipe it off but its coming from underneath the coating?? you can see black dots where rust was but its smooth? heres my question parts store said they will let me upgrade to hookers brand will they rust that quik to?? i thought ceramic would keep rust back a few years? i just put all new exhaust and figure if i change headers it wont match up exact due to dif brand, thanks

I two would expect ceramic coated headers not to rust. Can you give flowtech a call and see what they think? Maybe the coating is defective and you can just swap in the same headers with a good coating.

Sure sounds like a manufacturers defect. I have the Flowtech (Afterburner) ceramic headers on mine for the past 8 years or so, having no issues like that

I have a set of Flow Tech headers on my 1981 El Camino SS and a Set of Doug Thorley headers for my 1979 Z-28 RS Camaro that were locally done .And have never had any issues with rust. If you still have the recipe and if they are still under warranty.I would take them back.
