can anyone recongnize this engine?
its def a small block. but what u wanna find is the numbers on the block. they are on the back of the motor on a plate near the oil filter. if not there they are on the front near the water pump its gonna be hard to find due to the grease.
It's most likely a 350 or 305. Probably a 350 as they're so easy to find. You can also tell if you take the valve covers off there should be a number there that tells you if has 305 or 350 heads. That will be easier to find because it should only be covered in oil...not grease. Good luck.

forget it then.
just from that one pic it looks Mickey Moused at best. the rest of the car can only be worst and it is probably a nightmare. if the engine bay is that bad, then YOU KNOW the t-tops leak like waterfalls.
for that matter, someone could have put a 307 in there at one point just for a cheap runner

Maybe on one side of the car there is no rust. Have you seen the frame, under the trunk, other possible and easily rusted out areas? If it seems too good to be true it pobably is.
