Third and fourth gens have a torque arm rear suspension. In short no, they are coil spring. Beef up the 10 bolt. Parts aren't too expensive. Do a google search and there are tons of build up articles on 10 bolts. Stay away from s10 rears. Unless you can score a 12 bolt from an early second or have one built, be it Ford 9", 10/12 bolt, or Dana 60. (prices are around 3grand ready to go)

And welcome. Very nice people here.

Newer 10 bolts are also 7.5 inch ring gears and break easily under torque and power. The older ones in the second gens are 8.5 (or 8.2 if you have certain 70 models) which have the same pinion thickness as a 12 bolt rear.
