OK so i am rebuilding a 1980 camaro and at the moment I am looking to find a A/C compressor (the long kind not a pancake one) that is CHROME....
i still have my r-12 system...

shouldI Change over to a r-134a system? is it better ? and if so what kind of fabrication (brackets houses condenser etc...)would i need to do and what kind of compressor do i need ? ? ? ?

I would stay with the axial comp. and R 12 like your car was meant to have. Remember the line..."Keep your G.M. car all G.M."?? that line was not meant for auto "purists" only.Why try to re-invent the wheel. That systemwas installed on a lot of cars from the Generaljust the way it was designed and It has worked very well! Can't help you with the chrome unless you want to completely dis-assemble the comp. and send the case out to a chrome shop
