Default Buying My First 2nd Gen

Hi guys, im new to the 2nd gen camaro's though i have always wanted one. I found a 79' for sale while i was working and it is in near mint condition there is no rot underneath whatsoever. The motor is NOT original, but it is a 350. It has the original Muncie T10 4 speed and the 3.73 rear end. The interior needs a little work, carpet seats, headliner but it is currently on the road. He wants around 3000 for it and i was going to offer him 2000. Could anyone tell me what the car would be worth w/o the original motor? Thanks for the help - Greg

It's getting harder to price these cars, It is worth what what you are willing to pay for it. Let us know if you get it, i would say you'll prob get it for 2500.

Have you ever timed your car? What kind of carb are you using? This one has a holley 650 4bbl with an edelbrock manifold. But the motors not original and we dont know what kind of power its putting out. Any help is appreciated.

I'd say that sounds good. I'm gonna be using a 750 CFM on my 383 when I get it in. How's the Engine sound? Have you driven it?

Ya the current owner drove me up the street in it and i drove it back and chirped tire up to 3rd gear got it up around 75, the motor runs real nice, we dropped the idle down to like 500rpm and the motor purred but when you wind it up it sounded awsome, it has headers strait back to flowmasters with no y-pipe or cats.

No, no pics yet but i will soon. What do you think about an edelbrock eps manifold with a 800cfm eps carb. I was thinkin maybe too much fuel and need to get new heads but im not surei dont know that much about heads. Im prolly gonnaget a cam if i do this too. Lemme know what you think.

One way or another the engine is going to use the gas it needs. Although 800 CFM may be a little much for that Engine.. you know how much HP the engine is putting out?
